Rocky Mountain Youth League (RYL)

 Formerly Club Youth League (CYL)

Rocky Mountain Youth League (RYL) Logo

Starting in 2026, the CYL (formerly the Colorado Club Youth League) was moved under the control of the Rocky Mountain Region of USA Volleyball. It is now known as the RYL (Rocky Mountain Youth League)

The RYL is designed for developmental players (14 and under) seeking a higher level of competition and skill development. It is also for U14 and below club players to have a competitive league to play between summer and the start of club season (during high school season for the older girls).   RYL mimics foundational aspects of club—such as rules, competition format, and the spirit of teamwork—while keeping things accessible and fun.   The program provides valuable exposure to the club environment without the time, cost, and stringent requirements of traditional club volleyball.

The EDGE views our RYL teams as a warm-up for our U14 teams before club season. We will encourage (not require) all of our club players at 14 and younger to play RYL with their teams. Next, we see RYL as a stepping stone between our developmental program and competitive club volleyball for our developmental players. Please note however, that playing RYL does not necessarily get you a spot on a club team.  That said, there is no prerequisite to tryout for our RYL teams. Anyone is welcome to try out.

  • League runs at the same time as the high school volleyball season
  • Season will officially start in early to mid September (Practices begin)
  • Tournaments begin the first weekend in October and run every Sunday through the first weekend in November.
    • Final tournament November 8-9 is a 2-day event
  • Season ends the in November, right around High School State Championships, and right as club practices typically begin
  • Instruction from qualified club coaches in a club environment
  • INVALUABLE prep for high school/club
  • Minimum of two games a week
  • Participating clubs located throughout the Denver metro area
  • Cost is $475

This league DOES NOT conflict with any of our developmental programs.  This league DOES NOT conflict with club season.

Your athlete's training and development will be overseen by a club coach with competitive coaching experience. Our teams will all have club resources dedicated to your athlete's development while still ensuring that they are having loads of fun!

RYL will require a USAV Membership.  If you have not made a club team, a membership unique to RYL will be available for a lower cost than the annual USAV Membership required of club athletes.
