- If you registered as a member of USAV last season (you played club with us - AAU in developmental is not transferrable), You DO NOT need to get a summer tryout membership. Your membership is valid until the end of August.
RECRUITING PERIOD
Clubs may begin recruiting players regardless of club affiliation beginning the day that player's team has completed their final tournament of the season.
NEW RULES AND PROCESSES FOR THE 2025 SEASON
The Rocky Mountain Region has changed the rules involving tryouts and signing that will alter the way we offer existing club members a position next season. Here is a summary of the rules this year as imposed by the RMR:
GIRLS Open Gyms/TRYOUTS at The EDGE will begin on Friday, May 3. We will begin making verbal offers at open gyms to any players whose season is over. We will NOT begin to make offers to players who are still practicing for post-season (Nationals)
Verbal Offers:
- Clubs may begin to give verbal offers to players at open gyms once they begin as long as the players season has concluded. Once their season is over, they are considered a free-agent.
- Verbal offers are NOT binding until the contract has been signed (see “designated signing dates,” below).
Player contract signing:
- PLAYERS RETURNING TO YOUR CLUB may be offered contracts beginning July 22th @ 10 AM
- Contracts for players NEW to your club may be offered beginning July 23 @ 10 AM.
- Any contracts signed prior to this date and time will be null and void.
- Deposits can be requested by Club.
- All contracts must include a clear date and time stamp with each signature in order to be considered valid.
- It is up to the club to determine the amount of time they will give parents/guardians to sign these contracts.
- Once the contract is signed, it is binding, and player/player representative will not be allowed to sign with another club for the 2024-2025 season.
- Once a contract is signed IT IS BINDING and a player may not sign with another club.
Open Gym Evaluations
Open Gym Evaluations are the primary events where evaluations and verbal offers for our club teams will be made. We do encourage all of our athletes (including those who are already verbally offered) to attend tryouts as well.
Open Gym Evaluations and Tryouts for the 2025 Club Season will be held beginning May 3 (Fridays May 3-24, Saturdays after May 24): 3395 Carder Ct, Unit C300, Littleton, CO 80129
Players interested in playing at the EDGE should attend our open gyms, as well as our summer clinics. BUT OPEN GYMS IS WHERE MOST SPOTS WILL BE OFFERED AND FILLED!!!
Accepting a spot on a team is a CONTRACTUAL OBLIGATION to attend ALL DAYS of ALL TOURNAMENTS.
NATIONAL VS REGIONAL TEAMS
The main difference between our National and Regional teams is out-of-state travel. National teams will travel to out-of-state national qualifiers in hopes of earning a bid to Girls Junior National Championships. Regional teams will play only in regional tournaments within Colorado.
When registering for tryouts there is an option allowing families to request that their athlete ONLY be considered for Regional teams. We offer this option for families who want their athlete to play club but are concerned about the cost of traveling out of state (hotels, meals, and airfare).
If you DO NOT select this option, your athlete will receive consideration for a National team spot. But your athlete may still end up on a Regional team.
If you DO select this option, and your athlete has several years of experience, please realize that your team will very likely have a wide spectrum of skill and/or experience. While we form each team to be as competitive as possible, the odds are very low that every position needed (setters/hitters/etc) will have a corresponding National level player who elected to play Regional.
We do NOT allow families to select that their athlete play on a National team. Those spots are earned in tryouts.
